AGA outpatient

What is AGA (male pattern baldness ) outpatient?

If you are suffering from androgenetic alopecia (English name is called AGA) and would like to take an oral drug (5α-reductase inhibitor, drug name: finasteride in Japan), please explain and prescribe it. I will do it. This oral drug finasteride is not covered by insurance according to the policy of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Therefore, we have decided to start treatment at our hospital with the intention of having everyone use it at the lowest possible rate.

Finasteride is an oral medication for alopecia. For details, please refer to the AGA specialized commentary site. (Provided by Banyu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.)

Medical care at your own expense

Finasteride tablets are not covered by insurance and are at your own expense. For those who visit our hospital for the first time, the initial consultation fee is 2,000 yen (2,160 yen including tax). The re-examination fee (prescription fee) is 1,500 yen (1,620 yen including tax).

Quite cheap pricing in the suburbs of Tokyo

The price per finasteride tablet (1 mg) is 214 yen. 28 tablets for one month costs 6,000 yen (6,480 yen including tax).

Recommended for tumor marker and PSA measurement

Taking finasteride lowers the PSA level in the blood by about 50%, which may interfere with the early detection of prostate cancer. Therefore, unless you are measuring PSA within 2 months before taking the drug at the dock, we recommend you to measure PSA before taking finasteride. In this case, PSA measurement will be treated as your own expense and will be 3,200 yen (3,456 yen including tax). In addition, it is recommended to remeasure PSA 6 months after taking the drug to judge the effect.
