More than half of the outpatients strive daily to reach the HbA1c 5% level, and many have improved complications such as retinopathy and neuropathy. The number of patients who are suffering from being declared insulin therapy or who are in trouble due to frequent insulin injection therapy (three injections before meals) is increasing rapidly. Our hospital is located in the center of Tokyo, and since we are aiming for cutting-edge diabetes medical care, we are trying to reduce the number of patients who should receive insulin therapy by using new drugs. In that sense, the overwhelming majority of diabetics who have been declared insulin are now going to the hospital for oral treatment. It is a perfect clinic for patients who want to receive cutting-edge medical care for diabetes in Tokyo and want to have a family doctor.
